About Me

I moved to Greensward Academy in September 2016 as Director of Science.  My role over the years has included coordinating both the KS3 and KS4 program of study within science which have enabled me to successfully implement and manage various curriculum changes.  I have also been a Lead Practitioner in Science which has allowed me to further develop innovative teaching and learning strategies within science as well as whole school improvement.

In 2011 I successfully completed my Masters Degree in Leadership and Management.  The experience I gained from this has been invaluable in allowing me to explore different leadership styles and strategies.  I have also been involved in outreach work supporting the science department for 3 years in a “Nationally Challenged School”.  My main responsibility was to identify issues that would improve the quality of learning and teaching, personalise learning and to improve overall results of the Science Department.  In my capacity as Lead Practitioner I have worked with the school Teaching and Learning steering group and have led many successful staff INSET workshops.

I also secured funding to help set up a STEM club focusing on the F1 in schools project.  I have over the years mentored NQTs and GTPs.  In my capacity as a middle leader I was also responsible for performance management of teaching and non-teaching staff in a large successful science department from KS3 to KS5.
