Research & Development

Research and Development (R&D) is a key strand within the TSA agenda.

R&D enables schools to learn and improve by drawing on existing research and by innovating, testing and evaluating new approaches to teaching, leadership, professional development and/or school improvement.

Partners

Much of our work to date has been in collaboration with HEIs and organisations such as Royal Opera House Bridge.  More recently we have heavily engaged with Anglia Ruskin University and MENCAP.

Projects

Billericay TSA is engaged in a wide range of small and larger projects involving areas such as subject and classroom based projects through to national agendas.  Most projects span a 12-24 month period. See below for some of our current and past projects:

Further Support

The Education Endowement Foundation (EEF) website hosts a wealth of projects and can provide opportunities to bid for funded projects as well as much much more.  Please CLICK HERE for further information.

The Research Schools Network is a collaboration between the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the Institute for Effective Education (IEE) to create a network of schools that will support the use of evidence to improve teaching practice.  Research Schools aim to lead the way in the use of evidence-based practice. Through the network they will share what they know about putting research into practice, and support schools in their region to make better use of evidence to inform their teaching and learning so that they really make a difference in the classroom.

Unity Research School – As part of the Unity Schools Partnership, The Samuel Ward Academy Trust is a successful, growing family of schools (currently 18) in west Suffolk. Shared values, energising networks and a passion for learning underpin all that we do within our primary, secondary and special schools.

Sandringham Research School – Sandringham School is an outstanding 11-18 comprehensive secondary school in St Albans, Hertfordshire. As a Research School and a National Teaching School, they use evidence and work with the research community to ensure that students within their networks receive the best education possible.
